E-Town Capital joined AVIC Automotive Systems Holdings Co in putting a total of $480 million to acquire the steering and drive line of Nexteer Automotive Co in April 2011, placing its Chinese headquarters in Beijing’s Economic-Technological Development Area.

It was China's largest foreign automotive spare parts acquisition at the time. This saved Nexteer Automotive from financial difficulties and helped it be successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2013. Funds of 2.3 billion Hong Kong dollars were raised. The stock code is 01316.HK.

This was a textbook case of a Chinese enterprise’s overseas acquisition, and it helped to narrow the technological gap between the Chinese automotive parts industry and  its international counterparts.
